Aida Čerkez
Veteran journalist, editor, and managerwith over 30 years of experience covering the Balkans
Aida Čerkez’s career began during the Bosnian War, where she initially supported foreign journalists before stepping into the role of correspondent. From 1994 to 2018, she worked with the Associated Press, serving as Sarajevo bureau chief and leading coverage during and after the war. In 1995, she earned the Gramling Award for managing the AP’s best global media operation. Since 2017, Aida has been an editor with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).
