Catalina Gómez Ángel
Independent journalist
Catalina Gómez is a Colombian independent journalist based in Iran. Since 2007, she has covered significant events across the Middle East, such as the war in Syria, the Gaza conflict, and the battle against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, alongside reporting from Afghanistan and on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. She serves as a permanent correspondent for France 24 in Spanish, Radio France International in Spanish, and the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia. Her impactful work has earned her multiple accolades, including Colombia’s Best Foreign Correspondent award.
